About this map
The major and minor rock edicts, pillar edicts and the sites that name Ashoka. Each marker notes the edict type, the script, and the subject.
Only two sets of edicts name Ashoka personally (Maski, Gujarra); the rest say Devanampiya Piyadasi. That single fact is asked repeatedly. Scripts (Brahmi, Kharosthi, Greek, Aramaic) are asked as edict-to-script matching.
The Kalinga edicts (Dhauli, Jaugada) carry the war narrative; the Schism edicts (Sarnath, Sanchi, Kosambi) the sangha discipline. Pillar sites cluster in the Gangetic plain: fix Sarnath, Lauriya and Rampurva.
