About this map
The dams and reservoirs behind India's river-valley projects, plotted on their rivers. Each marker names the river, the state(s), and the project's purpose: irrigation, power, or both.
This is match-the-following territory: dam to river, dam to state. The Indus-treaty projects (Baglihar, Kishanganga, Ratle) are asked through the treaty angle, not just geography.
Multipurpose projects blur across state lines (Bhakra Nangal, Damodar Valley). When a question names a project, first fix its river, then its states.
