About this map

Chola, Pandya and Chera capitals, the Roman-trade ports, Sangam-age digs and the Satavahana Deccan. Each marker ties the place to the text or the trade that made it famous.

Port-to-kingdom matching (Puhar-Chola, Korkai-Pandya, Muziris-Chera) is the standard question, with Arikamedu as the Roman-trade type site. The Sangam texts are dated to the early centuries CE: the exam asks the corpus, not the legends.

Satavahana centres (Pratishthana/Paithan, Amaravati, Nagarjunakonda) are asked through art and inscription angles. The Deccan bridges the Sangam south and the Mauryan north.
