About this map

The seas, gulfs and great lakes the exam names: which countries border each sea, the shrinking lakes, the records. Each marker lists the bordering countries, the angle UPSC uses.

Bordering-country questions are the standard format, especially for enclosed seas (Caspian, Black, Mediterranean). Shrinking lakes (Aral, Chad, Dead Sea) are asked as environmental markers.

Disputed waters (South China Sea, Persian Gulf naming) appear through the IR angle. For gulfs, fix which ocean each opens into.
